Looking forward to chairing the roundtable Film and Media Pedagogy and Practice for The Film & Media Studies Association of Canada. May 27th to May 29th in the Department of Film & Media at Queen’s University, Kingston, ON
Participants: Deirdre Longue, Allyson Mitchel, Émilie (Jacob) von Garan
This roundtable critically re-examines the potentials of film studies within our institutions’ social and cultural contexts and partnerships. Among different considerations, Film and Media Pedagogy and Practice, focuses on the positioning of creative methodologies, the degree of autonomy in academia and the evolving landscape of the field. In bringing together filmmakers, curators, historians, educators, graduate students and scholars, we hope to provide a conversational forum to share and analyze texts, issues, discourses and personal experiences that inform the futures of Film Studies.
Autonomy, Pedagogy, Practice, Future
