Excited to share some of my preliminary research for my Belle Park Project, Graduate Research Fellowship, Belle of the Ball: Geocaching Belle Park.
Zine and geocache coming soon!
Cyanotype, to put it simply is to draw with the sun. Essentially, you place an object or negative on paper or cloth treated with a special photosensitive solution. When exposed to sunlight, the magic happens, and your sun print is created – a white silhouette or representation of what you placed appears on a blue background. I find cyanotype to be very playful, accessible and rewarding. Perfect for beginners and experienced artists.
Thank you to the Union Gallery offering the Cyanotype Workshop: Creating a Solar Blueprint with Mara Bureau.
Union Gallery is our student gallery on campus located in the Joseph S. Stauffer Library building. Gallery Director, Morgan Wedderspoon, Program Director, Abby Nowakowski and Workshop Leader Mara Bureau together create the perfect environment to experiment, make art and form community.
